There I was watching Billy Idoll live —it was like he was so free of the human condition. He was singing Money Money Money – rocking away like he was free—just so damn free and energised. And the crowd started- it was slow at first, just a gentle rocking at first, but within minutes Billy had the crowd going crazy. It was amazing. They started with just a little feet stomping and within a few songs, just around midnight, they rocking New Orleans like never before. You wouldn’t have thought that these three thousand odd humans—inflicted with the human condition—could be so free just because Billy was getting them to dance.
What is so special about dance and the human condition? It lets humans be so free. I don’t think it just the darkness of the dance floor and the spectacle of the lights and sound of the beat—sure all those things help, but surely there is more to this Human Condition?
